Who we are

Rural Education Experts Cambodia (REEC) is a locally-led Cambodian charity, registered with the Ministry of Interior (Prakas No. 1997 ប្រ.ក, 2024), Tax ID (VAT TIN) B115-902402561. REEC is responsible ("data controller") for the small amount of personal data described below.

The short version

You can browse this site and donate without giving us any personal information.
This site uses no cookies, no analytics, and no trackers.
Your card or banking details go directly to the payment processor (ABA PayWay) — they never reach our website and we never see them.
We never sell your data or share it for marketing. The only outside services that touch any data are the ones needed to run the site and deliver what you asked for, listed below.

What we collect

Nothing, by default. Browsing the site and making a donation requires no account, no name, and no email address.
Only what you choose to give us, after donating. On the thank-you page you may optionally add your first name and country to our public supporters list, and/or an email address to receive occasional updates. Both are optional, never required to donate, and collected only if you opt in.
Donation transaction records. For each online donation we keep the transaction reference, amount, currency, and date — the same information shown on your receipt. These records contain no name or contact details unless you explicitly chose to be listed as a supporter.
What you send us. If you email us, we have your email and what you wrote, and we use it to reply.

What we never collect

Card and payment details. Online payments are handled entirely on ABA PayWay's secure hosted page, operated by ABA Bank. Your card number or banking details are collected by PayWay, not by us. See ABA Bank's own privacy terms for how they handle payment data.
Cookies, analytics, tracking. This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and embeds no third-party trackers or social widgets.

How we use your information

To show your first name and country on our supporters page, only if you opted in (never the amount).
To send occasional updates about REEC's work, only if you opted in — every message has an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw consent any time.
To keep donation records for bookkeeping and legal accountability as a registered charity.

Service providers

We use a small number of services to run the site. We share with them only what is necessary for them to do their job, and nothing else:

ABA Bank / PayWay — payment processing. Collects your payment details directly on its own pages.
Cloudflare — website hosting and delivery, and the database that stores our donation records (including your name, country and email address if you opted in).

PayWay issues your donation receipt on its own payment page; we do not email receipts, and we do not currently use an email service. If we start using one to send the updates you opted in to, we will name it here first.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to.

Retention

Donation transaction records are kept as long as charity accounting rules require. If you opted into the supporters list, your first name and country stay listed until you ask us to remove them. If you opted into updates, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to see, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, or to stop emailing you. Write to [email protected] and we will act on it promptly.

International donors

REEC operates from Cambodia, and the services above may process data outside your own country. We apply the same rules regardless of where you donate from: minimal data, used only for what you asked, never sold or shared for marketing.
