Community Learning Camps
Many children in remote or mobile communities cannot attend formal school. We set up learning camps in villages, pagodas, and community shelters so children can access basic education while longer-term solutions develop.
What we do
Practical, community-led programs that help children in rural Cambodia learn, grow, and build brighter futures.
Working closely with communities, schools, local authorities, and partners, we run practical and sustainable programs that increase access to education, improve learning environments, support teachers, and empower communities to take an active role in their children’s education.

Many children in remote or mobile communities cannot attend formal school. We set up learning camps in villages, pagodas, and community shelters so children can access basic education while longer-term solutions develop.

We work with communities and partners to build and improve classrooms, libraries, and sanitation. Community members contribute labour and local resources, creating a strong sense of ownership.

We help establish school libraries and reading spaces, providing books, materials, and activities that build literacy, creativity, and a love of reading.

Teachers are at the heart of learning. We support them with training, resources, mentoring, and professional development to improve teaching quality and student outcomes.

We provide books, school supplies, uniforms, bicycles, and other resources that help children attend school and take a full part in their education.

For children in remote areas far from school, we support dormitory and accommodation programs so students can continue their education in a safe environment.

We work with parents, community leaders, school committees, and local authorities to promote education and build lasting local support for children’s learning.
REEC currently works in three north-eastern provinces of Cambodia:
These provinces are home to many rural and indigenous communities where children face significant barriers to education — distance, poverty, limited infrastructure, and a shortage of services. We focus on the most remote and underserved communities, particularly those that are often overlooked because they have smaller numbers of school-age children.

Since its establishment in 2024, REEC has worked alongside communities, schools, local authorities, and partners to improve educational opportunities for children in rural Cambodia.
Together with our partners and the active participation of local communities, REEC has:
As resources and funding allow, REEC aims to expand deeper into Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri, and Stung Treng, and to explore support for underserved communities in other provinces across Cambodia. Our goal is simple: to reach the children who are hardest to reach, so that no child is left behind simply because they live in a remote community.
Your support builds classrooms, stocks libraries, and trains teachers in rural Cambodia.
